KTM 390 Adventure 2025: A Rugged Revolution for Indian Riders
KTM has set the stage for a new era of adventure touring with the launch of the 2025 390 Adventure in India. Priced at Rs. 3.68 lakh, the new model brings a host of upgrades that elevate it to the next level of ruggedness and capability, all while maintaining its position as one of the most exciting options for Indian adventure enthusiasts.
One of the standout changes in the 2025 390 Adventure is its new wheel configuration. The latest version ditches the smaller 19-inch front wheel of the previous model in favor of a larger 21-inch spoked wheel up front, paired with a 17-inch spoke wheel at the rear. This change gives the bike even greater off-road prowess, making it a more capable performer on difficult terrains.
KTM has also made significant strides in suspension technology with the 2025 model. The 390 Adventure now features fully adjustable WP Apex suspension, offering 200mm of travel at the front with 30-click adjustability for compression and rebound. The rear end boasts a 205mm travel monoshock, which offers 20-click rebound and 10-click preload adjustment.
These changes not only make the ride more comfortable over long distances but also provide riders with the ability to fine-tune their suspension setup based on the terrain.
In terms of design, the new 390 Adventure looks more aggressive and purpose-built. The sharper, more muscular design draws clear inspiration from its larger siblings in KTM’s adventure lineup, such as the 790 and 890 models. It’s clear that this bike has been designed with the hardcore adventurer in mind, with a sturdy, purposeful stance that commands attention on both the trails and the highways.
Despite the aggressive upgrades, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure remains accessible to a wide range of riders. The seat height is lowered to 830mm, making it more approachable for shorter riders. Additionally, the ground clearance has been slightly increased to 227mm, while the bike’s weight has increased just a touch to 183kg, which ensures that it still feels agile and responsive on the road.
At the heart of the new KTM 390 Adventure is an upgraded 398.6cc single-cylinder engine that now delivers 45.3bhp and 39Nm of torque, marking a significant increase over the previous model. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, which comes with both a slipper clutch and a quick shifter, making gear changes smoother, especially when shifting under heavy throttle.
On the tech front, KTM has added several new features that enhance the riding experience. Riders now have access to three distinct riding modes—Street, Rain, and Off-road—each offering a tailored experience based on conditions. The new five-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity offers all the essential information at a glance, and the suite of electronic features includes cruise control, switchable cornering traction control, cornering ABS, and off-road ABS.
With these extensive updates, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure is a much more refined machine compared to its predecessor. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone looking to explore India’s diverse landscapes, offering the perfect blend of performance, technology, and rugged design.
Though it doesn’t have an exact competitor in terms of price, the 2025 390 Adventure’s purpose and off-road capabilities draw a close comparison to the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. If you’re someone who loves the thrill of adventure riding, the KTM 390 Adventure is set to be a game-changer in this segment.
